The Soprano Mine Yücel, born and raised in Germany, delighted the audience and Press with her performance of Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte). The critics of the German paper “Die Welt” distinguished her as a fascinating Soprano with an "agile, animated Voice".

Presently, Mine Yücel is supervised by Prof. Thomas Heyer.

After her initial studies with Cordula Sodt she advanced at the College of Music Hanover and at the College of Music Cologne, where she graduated with her Diploma and her Master of Music with Honors. She further refined her singing by attending Master classes with Ks Mirella Freni and Edda Moser, only to mention a few.

Her education in detail

She began her education with Cordula Sodt, studied with Prof. Richardson – Smith at the College of Music Hanover and further with Prof. Kelly – Moog at the College of Music Cologne. She graduated with Honors and attained her diploma and Master of Music.

She enriched her singing by attending master classes with famous singers and conductors: Ks Mirella Freni, Edda Moser, Ks Anna Tomowa – Sintow, Ks Anja Harteros, Prof. Gerd Uecker, Prof. Thomas Heyer and Prof. Dunja Vejzovic.

The young Soprano was granted a scholarship by the Richard Wagner Society.

Her engagements and roles in detail

On stage, the soprano was seen in many performances. This includes roles such as Sylva Varescu,Gilda, Saffi, Fiordiligi, Giulietta, Calypso, Lady Billows, First Lady, flower maiden, Chava and Manja that accompanied her career since 2006. Mine Yücel has performed in many theaters and opera houses.

Besides her Concerts this season, she will perform  Sylva Varescu in Statetheater Cottbus´new Production of the Gipsy Princess and as a winner of the Opernfestspiele Munot she will sing the role of Musetta in La Boheme in August 2018 in Switzerland.

She is the Winner of 2013 Chamber opera Schloss Rheinsberg Competition, where she performed as Saffi in the Gipsy Baron.

As a winner of the international singing competition Schlossoper Haldenstein 2013 she  performed in Verdi’s famous opera Rigoletto as Gilda.

In the season 2016/2017 she performed the four last songs by strauss as well as some of the seven earls songs in the chamberplay " Der alte König in seinem Exil" at Theater Hagen.

In the season of 2015/2016 she was Selma in Ludger Vollmers Gegen die Wand (Head On) at Theater Giessen and was with the südwestdeutsche Philarmonie on a Operetta concert tour through south Germany and Switzerland.

Season 2014/15 she was singing  the Title Role in the world premiere of Alice in Wonderland and 1st Esquire and 2nd Flowermaiden in Parsifal at Opera Wuppertal. Furthermore she was Sylva Varescu in  the Gipsy Princess at Theater Görlitz.

She performed the role of Calypso (Leinen aus Smyrna/Rushton) at the Theater Bayer Kultur Leverkusen in 2012 and at the University of Music Aachen in 2011. (Stage director: Gabriele Rech). According to the German paper “Die Welt” she was brilliant as Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte) conducted by Anna Skryleva at the Forum Hamburg. After having a big success as Lady Billows (Albert Herring/Britten) at the University of Music Cologne in 2008, she was invited to sing it at the Theater Aachen in 2011. Mine Yücel performed the first Lady (The Magic Flute) at the Gerling Cologne, directed by Michael Hampe. She had the great pleasure to perform in Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny (Weill) as Girl under the direction of Katharina Thalbach and conducted by Lothar Koenigs at the Opera Cologne.

She fascinated as Giulietta in Tales of Hoffmann at the Theaters Solingen and Remscheid in 2010. With Conductor Laurent Wagner she embodied the role of Chava in Fiddler on the roof at Theaters Solingen and Remscheid in 2008.

In the early stages of her education, Yücel gave her debut as a Mezzosoprano with the roles of Manja in “Countess Mariza”, Flora in “La Traviata” and in a scenical performance of the Mozart Requiem at the City Theater Hildesheim.

Before switching to be a soprano she personified roles such as Dorabella and Cherubino in further performances at the Braunschweig Classix Festival.

Her Concerts

In 2015 she gave a Liedmatinee with Four last songs by Strauss and works by Alban Berg at Wuppertaler Bühnen.During the renowned Norddeutsche Radiophilarmonie Musiktage in Hanover, Yücel gave an Opera recital, sang at the Mozart Gala in the Münsterlandhalle and was one of the soloists in Le Nozze di Figaro of the German team for the Ring award in Graz, Austria. Her concerts led her to Austria already in 2007, where she gave an Opera recital.

During the Braunschweig Classix Festival she sang within the scope of the French Opera Night and at the Broadway concert.

Aside from opera, Yücel’s repertoire also includes oratorio. The soprano roles in Brahms Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem or Bach’s Christmas Oratorio are just a few examples of the oratorios for which she is engaged throughout Germany. She sang the soprano solo in Schumann’s Mass op. 147 at the Festival Silesia Cantat which led her during a concert tour not only to many German cities but also to Poland.

As a winner of the National Competition of Singing (Voice) NRW she appeared at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. The Italian Songbook by Wolf, which she sang at the City Hall in Hanover is as much a part of her repertoire as a Lieder recital with Russian composers.

She took stage at the Schubertiade at the Lower Saxony State Museum.
